Over the last few months, we’ve been working behind the scenes to make sure that the Built for BlackBerry designation is even more helpful for BlackBerry developers and customers. To help you increase the discoverability of your apps, we have made some changes to the way Built for BlackBerry apps are presented in the BlackBerry World storefront on BlackBerry 10. These changes will be available in an upcoming BlackBerry World update.

Introducing the Built for BlackBerry Badge

With over 120,000 BlackBerry 10 apps and games in BlackBerry World, we wanted to make sure that Built for BlackBerry apps get the recognition they deserve. That’s why we’re adding the Built for BlackBerry badge to BlackBerry World – so that you can easily identify apps and games that deliver the signature BlackBerry experience.

Let’s Break Down the Changes

The first thing you’ll notice when browsing apps in the list view is the new Built for BlackBerry indicator located next to the star rating. This easy to recognize symbol helps users quickly identify Built for BlackBerry applications while browsing BlackBerry World.

We’ve also increased the visibility of Built for BlackBerry apps on the app details page. Take a look at the screenshot to see how the new Built for BlackBerry badge looks while viewing the details page for a specific application.

A quick tap on this badge in the app details page will take you to the new Built for BlackBerry feature page. This informative section breaks down just exactly what having the Built for BlackBerry designation is all about.

Built for BlackBerry apps are now even more prominent and this has already started to help developers build their business on BlackBerry by helping consumers find apps and games that they know they’ll love.
